The Missing Puzzle Piece

According to Canary Technologies, there are six things that guests look for when selecting a hotel to stay at: cleanliness, contact-less check in, room comfort, hotel amenities, guest reviews, and time responses via text messaging. One thing that is missing from this list however, is location.

Location is an essential factor to consider when trying to figure out how to market your hotel in a way that draws more customers in the door. Here are three angles to view your hotel and attract more customers:

1. Location is King

When looking for a hotel to stay at, whether it be for a vacation, or just a one night stay, location is key. Travelers want to find themselves in a location that has multiple amenities, such as: entertainment, exciting views, and overall easily accessible. Consider your location, what does it have to offer? Are there any good restaurants around? Any “must see sights”? When convincing folks on the road to take respite at your sight - whether for one night, or for a week long vacation, you need to know what your location offers - what makes it special.

2. The Devil is in the Details

What does your location offer that many others don’t? Do you have an in-house spa, complimentary breakfast or room-service. Do you have views that no one else can beat? Or a family friendly atmosphere that accommodates young children. Most people may just want a place to lay their head for a night, but offering small additional amenities can sway travelers on where they want to stay.

3. Know Your Niche

Are you in the middle of a cosmopolitan area, where multiple cultures are showcased throughout your city's landscape, or are you in a more rural area, where slow, peaceful days and quiet nights are a hallmark. No matter the case, understanding what you offer compared to the rest, is key to drawing travelers in.

In conclusion, while factors such as cleanliness and comfort are important, what matters most to travelers is location, location, location! So what makes your place of respite different?
